Yixing clay is a red or brown type of stone-like clay. The name is translated into ‘Purple Sand’. They are used for the yixing-wares and can be formed by slip molding, coil forming, or most commonly, slab forming or throwing. The most famous products made from yixing clay are figurines and teapots.
